  • Dr. Diana Tong Li - CMAAC NS President

    Dr. Li, founder and professor at the Canadian College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCATCM), is one of only two practitioners in Atlantic Canada with a PhD in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). As the owner of Life-Care Acupuncture & Natural Medicine Clinics, she has helped thousands of patients and specializes in fertility treatments, having contributed to the birth of over 300 children. A passionate advocate for TCM, Dr. Li has led research, hosted national conferences, and worked to establish professional regulations for acupuncture in Nova Scotia, making her a driving force in the region's holistic health industry.

  • Dr. Franklyn Chen- Vice President of CMAAC NS

    With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Franklyn Chen, a PhD graduate of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, is a prominent Acupuncturist and TCM practitioner. As president of the Acupuncture & Naturopathy Association of Nova Scotia and co-founder of CCATCM, he has treated thousands of patients, taught TCM and Qi Gong, and presented research at global conferences. Dr. Chen's expertise lies in treating complex conditions such as infertility and chronic pain, blending Eastern and Western approaches to healing with remarkable results.

  • Lucy Griffiths - Vice President of CMAAC NS

    Lucy Griffiths - Vice President of CMAAC NS

    Lucy Griffiths earned her B.Sc. (Honours) in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 2002 and has been in full-time practice ever since. She has worked in private practice and the UK National Healthcare System, advocating for professional excellence as a Regional Representative for the British Acupuncture Council.

    After moving to Nova Scotia in 2018, she became Instructor, Clinical Supervisor, and Dean of Acupuncture. In 2020, she was honoured on the MSVU Riva Spatz Women’s Wall of Honour for her dedication to the profession.

  • Dr. Bella Tan

    Dr. Bella Tan, founder of Two Tan Wellness Inc. in Halifax, brings over 28 years of expertise in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and a deep passion for teaching and healing. After earning her Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD from Guang Zhou TCM University, where she specialized in Mental Health Acupuncture and Scalp Needling, Dr. Tan has dedicated her career to both clinical practice and education. Inspired by her father’s work in TCM, she combines hands-on teaching with compassionate care, ensuring her knowledge is passed on to future practitioners while helping patients achieve holistic wellness.

  • Amanda Cheverie - Director of Public Relations

    Amanda Cheverie, a graduate of the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, has been practicing in health and wellness since 2017. As a board member of CMAAC-NS and an instructor at CCATCM, she is dedicated to promoting the benefits of acupuncture through education and community outreach. Amanda runs her own practice, City Tree Acupuncture, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where she provides personalized care to her patients.

  • Dr. Feng Jia Director of  Examinations

    Dr. Feng Jia - Director of  Examinations

    Dr. Feng Jia has over 28 years of training and work experience. He is the sole owner of Quality Life Healing Centre and his area of expertise includes the assessment of symptoms, the preparation of herbs (herbal medicine) specific to the individual’s needs, the treatment of specific illnesses and injuries through acupuncture, cupping, guasha and acupressure.

  • Dr. Qing Zhang

    Dr. Qing Zhang - Director of Education

    Dr. Qing Zhang has spent over 25 years researching and teaching Chinese Medicine. Her main goal is to share her knowledge and research with students, and help them to become good TCM practitioners. Dr. Zhang is also passionate about sharing her TCM skills and knowledge with the public, helping them to use ancient Chinese wisdom to improve their health and quality of life.

    Chi Tran, Treasurer of CMAAC NS

    Chi Tran, Treasurer of the NS Chapter of CMAAC, is a graduate of the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and a practicing acupuncturist at Two Tan Wellness in Bedford, NS. With a background in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and nearly a decade of senior accounting experience, Chi brings a unique blend of holistic health expertise and financial acumen to her roles. Immersed in TCM from an early age in Vietnam and inspired by her experiences with Eastern and Western healthcare, she bridges ancient traditions with modern medicine. Chi is also a Certified Yoga Instructor who enjoys hiking and practicing yoga in her free time.

  • Dr. MAN, Sui-Cheung - Director of Membership

    Dr. MAN is a dedicated clinician, researcher, and educator. He earned a double major in biomedical science and TCM, culminating in a PhD from the University of Hong Kong. Dr. MAN combines Western and traditional Chinese medicine to offer well-rounded care. As an expert in herbal proprietary products, he has over a decade of clinical research experience with publications in international journals. Passionate about education, he developed TCM courses and wrote books for the public. His approachable style has made him a media favourite, helping to spread TCM awareness.

  • Dr. David Dong Liu

    David Dong Liu, a professor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, holds a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Tuina from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine and a Master’s in Kinesiology from the University of Texas. With over 25 years of experience, he integrates TCM with modern neuroscience and rehabilitation techniques, specializing in spinal cord injury recovery and sports therapy. David’s work has supported Olympic athletes, and he is dedicated to preserving classical TCM practices while advancing their application in modern healthcare.

  • Alina Chen

    Board Member at Large at CMAAC NS. Alina serves as the Vice President of Business Development at CCATCM. She is also the Executive member of Dietotherapy with the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Society and Vice President of Acupuncture and Naturopathy Association of Nova Scotia.
